Fans and viewers of 8TV will be delighted to know that this August, a brand new exciting slot will be added! This goes especially for Taiwan drama addicts as for the first time ever in Malaysia 8TV presents to you the Hito Idol Theatre Slot!

The Hito Idol Theatre Slot as taken from its origin will feature artists from Taiwan and hit Taiwanese television series and to hit it off, the premier of Hot Shot that will grace your screens starting 16st August 2008 at 6.30pm.

“This new slot is especially dedicated for hard-dying fans of Taiwanese television series. Adding to our already hit Korean and Japanese drama slots, the Hito Idol Theatre Slot features popular Taiwanese drama that is sure to entertain our fans and viewers even more!” says 8TV’s General Manager of Brand Management, Business Development, Marketing and Communication, Ms. Lam Swee Kim.

“To hit it off, we have decided to premier the hit drama series Hot Shot that features famous artists like Jerry Wan, Wu Zhun, Show Luo, Zhou Cai Shi, Coco Jiang and George Hu.” adds Kim.

Beginning 16th of August, your Saturday evenings will never be the same again. Hot Shot starring three most famous and hottest male idols from Taiwan who have join forces to produce this fantastic production.

“In conjunction with the Olympic month, we decided to air this inspiring and sporty Taiwanese drama to go together with the Olympic fever. This is unlike any other drama because it is reported to spent a gross amount of $60 million Taiwan dollars to produce this massive production plus three of Taiwan most talented actors will be starring in this drama, ” said Ms Lam Swee Kim, 8TV’s General Manager of Brand Management, Business Development, Marketing and Communication.

“This drama is so phenomenal that even the merchandise products of this drama is on demand that it is being swept of the shelves as soon as it was released becoming the only Taiwanese drama with the most merchandising in the history of idol dramas,”

Hot Shot is an inspiring drama that involves dreams and hopes that everyone wish to fulfill. Hot Shot is a story about basketball players who struggle to compete for the college basketball top honors and to be the best player. It is a combination taste of failures and the sweet taste of victories.

Hot Shot stars all three top Taiwanese idols Jerry Yan, Wu Zun and Show Luo who are not only being mere than just a pretty face but also talented at the same time. This drama revolves around the battle of two well-known basketball teams Pi Li and Tian Wu.

In a school where academic performance is consider more important than sports, Li Ying which is acted by model turned actress Coco Jiang (Angel Lover, 2007) is determined to revive the basketball team by volunteering to be the head coach. Her first member is Yuan Da Ying, a country boy who is passionate about basketball but has no skill.

The role of Yuan Da Ying who is play by the multi-talented host, singer and actor Show Luo whom is a player with unpolished raw talent who wishes to defeat his rival team Tian Wu, he challenges affluent basketball phenomenon Dong Fang Xiang on which Jerry Yan charmingly takes the role of Dong Fang Xiang to a duel match.

Being straightforward and positive Yuan has no doubt that he can persuade arrogant Dong to join Pi Li team by winning the match. Together, both of them vow to beat the imaginary enemy of every player, Tian Wu team’s soul and top player, Wu Ji Zun whom is acted by the gorgeous heartthrob Wu Zun.

At the same time, Yuan and Dong both fell in love with Zhan Jie Er, which is acted by the lovely actress and model Zhou Cai Shi, causing further tension to their already rocky relationship.
